Tinnitus Causes and Treatments
There are many causes of tinnitus that fall in to these two categories. The most common cause of tinnitus is noise induced hearing loss or from loud or excessive sounds for a period of time. But there is also sudden hearing loss that has no obvious external effect causes.
Some Causes of Tinnitus Include:

- Acoustic Shock
- Head Injuries
- Loud Music (drums, amplifiers, sub woofers, etc.)
- Old Age
- Some medicines – Some types of Drugs including Antibiotics, Chemotherapy Drugs, Neurological Drugs
Tinnitus Treatments
There are many treatments for the varying causes of tinnitus. There are surgical treatments such as laser surgery and gamma knife radio surgery. There is also electrical stimulation therapy where the nerves in the ear can be stimulated to try to restore hearing. Some people have also used sound as a therapy to help repair the sound that they have lost. There are also home remedies for tinnitus that many people use as natural remedies to restore their hearing loss without surgery or drugs.
